DUO MEDICAL

Duo Medical is a South African healthcare company based in Cape Town South Africa. The company was established in 2023 to face the rising challenge of managing chronic pain in the African continent.

Our directors, Dr Jaco van der Walt and Marius Douglas, have extensive experience in delivering products, training and support to healthcare providers who provide anaesthetic care and surgery to patients who live in pain. They have done so since 2004, through Duo Medical’s partner company, Creatori Health.

Duo Medical was born to specifically to supply non-surgical products and services to healthcare providers in interdisciplinary management of chronic pain as the treatment of chronic pain requires a multimodal approach.

  • VISION

    Currently one in five people in South Africa live in chronic pain (1) and the sub-Saharan Africa lifetime prevalence of lower back pain is 36% in adolescents 62% in adults. (2) It is the vision of Duo Medical to partner with healthcare providers in supplying know-how, training, equipment, research and development, support and to partner with healthcare facility owners and funders in creating sustainable, equitable and affordable solutions for patients who live in chronic pain.

  • MISSION

    Duo Medical has existing supply lines, warehousing, know-how, systems, and personnel through the partnerships shared with its partner company, Creatori Health, and can draw and build on 20 years of experience in the marketplace and healthcare sector.

    The existing relationships with facility owners, other distributors, and funders tie in seamlessly with the relationships we Jaco and Marius has built over the years with healthcare providers. We will use our solid base to propel Duo Medical forward at an unprecedented pace to try and keep up with the pandemic of chronic pain that is ravaging Africa.
